Are you planning on traveling to Hong Kong and Macau anytime soon? You may want to consider purchasing an iVenture Card to save you time and money. Through an iVenture Card, you can already gain access to Hong Kong and Macau's top destinations cash-free with just a single pass and you can save as much as 20,000 pesos! Amazing, right? Continue reading below to see how you can maximize your trip using an iVenture Card and if purchasing one is the right choice for you.

What is the iVenture Card?

The iVenture Card is a pre-paid attraction pass that combines the best attractions, tours and experiences in Hong Kong and Macau. This allows you cash-free admissions to key destinations while still being able to customize your travel itinerary based on your own preferences and schedule. Cardholders may also avail of additional discounts to other attractions and restaurants.

Where to Buy?

You can purchase an iVenture Card via Klook for only PHP 6638 (3 day pass) or PHP 8148 (5 day pass). It may also be bought elsewhere, but Klook offers the best prices and hassle free booking so I highly recommend you get it there.

How to Use?

  • Purchase an iVenture Card from Klook or wherever you prefer. Choose whether to get a 3 day or 5 day pass.
  • Plan your trip. With the many choices of places and things to do, you won't really be able to do them all. Careful planning and evaluating on which activities you'd like to avail is crucial. Don't beat yourself up for missing a few.
  • Collect your iVenture Card from selected pick-up points listed here. If you opt for a more convenient option, you may use an Electronic iVenture Pass. An electronic pass provides you a QR Code which you could easily present using your phone. You can activate your card through the iVenture Check In Website. Activating is easy, just input your voucher ID and viola, a QR code is now accessible on your phone. Note: Make sure to claim your card within 6 months of purchasing.
  • Make necessary reservations. Some of the attractions require prior bookings so you could avail them. Please take note of that.
  • Enjoy your trip!

Hong Kong and Macau on a Budget using the iVenture Card
Day Three: Victoria Peak, Ngong Ping, Rickshaw Bus Tour
Day 3 - Hong Kong Ocean Park and Harbor Cruise
  • 7:00 am - Ride Peak Tram to Victoria Peak
    • It's better to be here early, the lines could get rough during peak hours, plus fresh air!
    • The iVenture card does not include admission to the Sky Terrace, you have to purchase this separately but there are already plenty of areas at the peak where you could get an unobstructed view of the Hong Kong skyline.
  • 10:00 am - The Art of Chocolate
    • Located within Victoria Peak
    • We were not able to avail this because it was still not included in the iVenture card when we purchased it.
  • 11:00 am - Travel to Tung Chung Cable Car Terminal
    • This part is a little different than what we did because the Cable Car was under maintenance during our trip (make sure to check their website for schedule maintenance and plan accordingly). iVenture does not refund or pay for additional costs you may incur for traveling via bus to Ngong Ping village. Since, we could not avail the included cable car ride, there was no point in trying to fit a visit to Ngong Ping in our 3 day iVenture Card timetable. During this time, we just utilized the Rickshaw Hop On Hop Off Bus to get to destinations within the city.
  • 12:00 pm - Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car
    • Big Buddha
    • Po Lin Monastery
    • Ngong Ping Village
    • Ngong Ping Piazza
    • Wisdom Path
  • 3:00 pm - Travel back to Hong Kong from Lantau Island
    • On our actual trip, we substituted this with the Crystal Bus tour and went to Lantau Link View Visitors Center. Tour ended at 5:00 pm.
  • 4:30 pm - Rickshaw Sight seeing hop on hop off tour bus
    • For routes, schedules and pick-up locations please refer here.
  • 7:30 pm - Sky 100 Observation Deck
    • Sky 100 VR Experience was not available during our visit.
  • 8:15 pm - A Symphony of Lights
    • Watching the Symphony of Lights again, this time, 100 floors or 398 meters above sea level.
  • 8:30 pm - Temple Street Night Market

How to Know if an iVenture Card is right for you?

Because not all of us have the same preferences and travel concerns, an iVenture Card may or may not be the right decision. So how do you know if it's a good idea to purchase one for your upcoming travel?
  • Your chosen activities are included in the package. See inclusions above.
  • You want to save money and avoid the hassle of making multiple bookings but still be in control of your itinerary.
  • You are perfectly capable of creating your own itinerary and timetable. P.S. It's harder than it looks!
  • You can follow simple instructions as some of the inclusions require specific directions.
  • You can utilize Google Maps and get from one point to another on your own.
  • Your trip duration will last for more than 3 days, otherwise, getting one is not worth it.
  • You are willing to walk till your feet drops to fully maximize your iVenture Card benefits.

Tips and Reminders
  • I honestly think that a 3 day pass is enough to cover everything you may want, but if you want more flexibility and some breathing time, a 5 day pass is also a good idea.
  • I do NOT recommend availing the Hong Kong Disneyland Combo because a trip to Disneyland will require a full day. That would seriously hurt your chances of maximizing your card. You can go to Disneyland on the fourth day of your trip.
  • Always remember to check if your activities require prior booking. We have encountered a few people during our trip who forgot to do so and weren't accommodated. I have noted which ones do above.
  • Look at opening and closing times of activities while planning your travel itinerary. Don't forget to account for your travel times and for accidental situations when you might get lost.
  • When you need to ask any questions, don't hesitate to contact iVenture and other services providers via email. They are very accommodating.
  • Consider your own physical capacity, and those who are traveling with you as well, while planning.
  • Research is key! Search how you are going to travel from one place to another, which MTR exits to exit from, places where you can eat, etc. for a more efficient travel experience.
  • I recommend using the Electronic iVenture Pass so you can simply present your phone while availing an activity. But if you want a souvenir, getting the physical ticket is alright too.
  • If you are going with a group, it is best to discuss the itinerary down to the T with everyone in the group before you go on your adventure. Make sure everyone knows what's going to happen so everything is coordinated and smooth sailing.
Overall, I highly recommend using an iVenture Card while exploring Hong Kong and Macau. This is especially good for people who are traveling there for the first time as some of the inclusions are basic go-to places.

I do hope that this post has been helpful to you. Please do let me know in the comments section if it has, I'd highly appreciate it.

For questions and other concerns, please comment below. I will try to answer to the best that I can. Happy traveling!
